Beyond being a dcotor

I have been a keen farmer for last 3 years since return from the UK. We have farm near Lepakshi which has coconut trees, mango yard and now we have started growing lemon, Neralae, Amla and Aracanut.

I have learnt new skils like plougind the land with tractor, Setting up drip irrigation, trimming mango trees, water conservation and many more.

Important lessons have been re emphasised which when incorporated in medicine are a great help. Ex

  1. Chemical fertilisers help in the immediate peroid but in the long run they are harmful. Same way medicines shuold be avoided unlsess needed.
  2. Pesticides are helpful when used in the early phase and in fixed dosage per plant. If amount is low disease will take away the plant while if amount is high plant will not be able to sustain. Same principles can be applied to medicines.
  3. Increasing sand fertility is the only thing that will help in the long run. Similarly we should increase our body’s strength to fight the disease.
  4. Use the available resources and try to keep the cost to low level by avoiding unnecssary instuments/peticides/nutrients. Similarly investment in newer technology should be made only when needed as it will increase the overall treatment cost for the patient.

And there are many more.

Agricuture helps me to spend time in nature and rechrage. I belive the time spent in afferestation will help our next generation.
